(Elkridge, MD. June 29, 2023) – The Maryland Society of Professional Engineers has elected new members of the Board and Directors at Large effective July 1.

Andrew Brown, P.E. of ATCS has been named the new President, replacing Victoria M. Ballestero, P.E., MBA, also of ATCS, who will stay on the Board and serve as Immediate Past President. Joining him is Bryan Tansky, P.E. of BGE, who has been named President-Elect and will also continue to serve as VP of Membership for another year.

Tory Pierce, P.E., Frederick Ward Associates, will be stepping into the role of VP of Legislation and John Motsco, P.E., D. S. Thaler & Associates, LLC will be the new Treasurer. Madisyn Vinyard, EIT, ATCS, was elected as Secretary. James Mirabile, P.E., BGE, will continue to serve in the role of Delegate while DJ Biswas, P.E., Amtrak, will remain VP of Education.

Newly-elected Directors at Large include Michelle Wolfe, P.E., KCI Technologies and William Zeid, P.E., Gorove Slade.

“I am honored to be part of a committed team of engineering professionals who are passionate about the industry and the work we do,” Brown said. “I am looking forward to this next year and the growth of our community, and I am excited to work with the MDSPE Board to craft new, exciting ways to serve the engineering community of Maryland from all disciplines.”

The Maryland Society of Professional Engineers Directors at Large consists of eight members, representing a diverse group of industries in the engineering profession.

Joining Wolfe and Zeid as Directors at Large are Robert Crosby, P.E., BGE (ret.); George Gadbois, P.E., Siemens, Bobby Giese, P.E., RK&K; Karen Moran, P.E.; Steven Troch, P.E., RK&K; Kelly Walus, P.E., Walus Engineering, LLC.

Local Chapter Representatives: Baltimore Chapter Representatives David Sitter, Stanley, Black & Decker Inc. and Erik Anderson, P.E., Jensen Hughes; and Potomac Chapter Representatives Girija Subramaniam, P.E. Forcing Function LLC and Robert Lanza, P.E. ICF.

Leadership for the MSPE Educational Foundation returns with Joel Oppenheimer, P.E., STV, Inc. as Chair; Edward Hubner, P.E. of EBL Engineers, LLC as Treasurer and Kelly Misner, P.E. of STV, Inc. as Secretary.
