For over a century, the United States Coast Guard Yard has built, repaired and renovated ships in Baltimore, Maryland for the U. S. Coast Guard. It is the Service’s sole shipbuilding and major repair facility, and an essential part of the Coast Guard’s core industrial base and fleet support operations. The Yard operates as a revolving fund activity with annual revenue of approximately $123 million. The Yard, a full-service shipyard, has a consistent record of exceeding customer expectations for quality, cost and timeliness. These characteristics make it a preferred source of maritime industrial support and services. The tradition of excellence and vision of quality performance ready the Yard for continued award-winning work, while proudly living up to its motto, “Service to the Fleet!”

The tour will include the waterfront area of CG Yard including some of the trade shops, ship lift and overhaul facilities showing the full range of the CG Yard’s capabilities for supporting the CG fleet.

Pants and closed toed shoes, preferably boots, are required for the tour. Hardhats and safety glasses will be provided. The tour will include approximately 2 hours of walking covering varied terrain and stairs.

After the tour, attendees are welcome to join USCG for wings and beer (cost included in ticket).
